Aliens VS Predator DX11 Benchmark ATi HD 5870
Right here is a video I recorded when I ran the Aliens VS Predator Benchmark. I edited the config file for it to have highest high quality on the textures(Very Higher) ,4x Anti-Aliasing and v-sync on. 16X Anisotropic filtering and Advanced shadows are also on. Tessellation is of course also enabled. I recoded the video with Fraps @ 1920×1080 @ 29.970 fps. The frame price did not drop beneath 30 fps although recording the video. The frame price I get when running this benchmark is among 39-85 frames per second, average is all around 55 fps. The lowest fps is when all the aliens come running. Music in the video comes from Aliens and some of the sound effects comes from www.freesound.org The text effect in the intro to the video is created by me. Every little thing edited with Sony Vegas Pro 9 64bit. I Card: Radeon HD 5870 owned until recently. After a year of almost continuous use card began rapidly to lose power until she could not hardly play games at the highest resolution or at maximum detail. : – /
Nakone I decided to buy a new graphics card from AMD’s 6870 and I can confirm that I will come better than ATI Performance 5870th At least I know the difference because they both own two graphics cards 5870, and 6870th I also tested the difference they see
@cockmaster2006 I agree, they mad a disappointing game, let’s hope that Aliens: Colonial Marines will be better than this. Aliens: Colonial marines will be released sometime during next year.

I have a DirectX 10 videocard but I really don’t see any difference with DX11
Man, I see this video playing at 30 FPS and it looks fine… I can run the game to look that good without dropping under 30 as well (I have basically the same rig, but with 8gb RAM and 2x 5770 in Crossfire), but I have to have at least 60 FPS when I game!
I don’t know why, but I can’t game on 30 FPS, it feels so sluggish and choppy to me.
Also, does anyone even play this game? I remember I was so disappointed by this game. PISSED, even. Multiplayer died after a month or two. =(

@utltrarama cheers mate, do you also know by any chance where the normal config file for the actual game is, cant find that anywhere either!
@OrdoPsykana The file is located in c:program filesRebellionAvP D3D11 Benchmark. There you find a file called AvP_Benchmark_Config.txt
Use notepad or similar to edit it.
@utltrarama I cannot find the config file for this game on Windows Vista, it isn’t in Username>AppData>Local>AliensvsPredator file, any ideas?

@Bra1th You can change the setting in the configuration file, just use notepad or similar text editor.
Strange benchmark tool as you cant change the settimgs or get a result at the end, anyway I benchmarked it using fraps, looked really smooth but must of dipped in places, heres the result (in FPS) Min 17, Max 116, Avg 33

@putsipa I haven’t seen any price info yet on Bulldozer. With Bulldozer AMD will re-introduce the FX brand, AMD used the brand FX on there highest performing cpu’s back in 2006 and those cpu’s where quiet expensive so if this is the same case with Bulldozer I’m not sure. Good luck with your new pc build.
@utltrarama im selling my pc, btw thanks for the Bulldozer infomation. Il check that out when it comes out. Do you have any clue how mutch it will cost ?
@putsipa Phenom II X4 955 BE is still a kick ass cpu when it comes to games. When I play Lost Planet 2 it only uses 20-30% of the cpu resources. There are only a few games that uses 4 cores.
@putsipa Well since AMD Bulldozer cpu’s is around the corner you would also have to buy a new motherboard. So lets see, new cpu, graphics card, motherboard and if you have ddr2 memory you also have to buy new ddr3 memory and as you said new psu. So yes selling some of the old components would be good. AMD Buldozer cpu’s is announced to be released in Q2 this year. AMD Bulldozer will have up to 8 cores. I’m going to upgrade my cpu and motherboard when Bulldozer shortly after it’s release.
so, amd x4 955 is still kickass cpu
, i own it too. But sometimes i think its kinda old. But the main thing that i should upgrade is my GT 240 
. I cant run games smooth at 1920×1080 and i need to buy new power supply if i buy new gpu. What you think, Should i sell my pc and build new one ?
