overclocking my AMD athlon ii x4 640
i utilised the stock cooler for this but i managed to overclock it to about 3.8ghz with my coolermaster tx3 Average temperature on three.5ghz is about 24 degrees (but its -three degrees outside when i recorded this) specs: Processor: Amd athlon II x4 640 three.00ghz Ram: 4gb ddr3 1333mhz Gpu: xfx 4850 HDD: 500gb

is this good for gaming.
how hot does it run? i have a athlon ii single core 2.0Ghz with stock cooling it gets 53′F at max no matter how hard i run my system.
can i buy an amd athlon ii x4 631 on vm900m motherboard or is it not compatible?
@brandon29tr The processor is very good also for Gaming if you overclock it it can Be Even netter. i have had 3.0ghz now I have 3.6 ghz

@Daveze0920 You would need to manually unlock it. From my knowledge, it can be unlocked. Look around for some tut’s on how to do it.

@LesPaulBJJ lol stronger. They have pretty much all the same durablity like am d and intel. He maybe refering for which is faster. He can easly refer to cpubenchmark chart if he googles it. and of course a 2 duo core will be faster and better than a p4! P4s are from like 2002 and duo core came in 2006 something like that!

@iKellso i never heard anything coming specificly when playing games but i have about 10 fans so the sys is loud by itself
@taejamhaha i ran prime95 for 3 – 4 hours, it was stable my computer didn’t crash calm down.
@GTR717 show us a video that you passed 6-8hrs prime95 blend test for us to believe that your overclock is stable. If not, don’t say “stable”. OK?
@MaxC0mpTips level 3 cache… that’s they say. also, Phenom has that black edition, unlocked cpu multiplier.
@GTR717 depends on your motherboard’s required cpu voltage to handle such frequencies stably

your temps are not right unless you live in Alaska
mine temps on my x4 640 is 19c but in mine bios its 34c.
my thermal grease sucks.
