I bought AMD. It has 4 physical cores (like the i7) but it only cost me $90!

Intel is ok but too expensive for me. Amd is the way to go-.-

someone replied to my comment saying that i am basically dumb for supporting AMD and not going with whoever has the fastest products for the price at the time…. Well all during the AM3 era….NOT am3+…. AMD was putting out better CPU’s for your BUCK than INTEL was …did the INTEL FANBOYS switch over to AMD during the AM3 era..NO!!! they supported a slower CPU at a MUCH HIGHER PRICE….cuz they are INTEL FANBOYS…I stand corrected! Stay loyal to your favorite company… never surrender!!

This is a joke…..every INTEL i every tried is a p.o.s. that can’t multi-task or let alone barely do one thing at a time well…. I tried AMD for the first time ever and its a multi-tasking king and eats DATA for breakfast and craps out INTELS … I will never look back at an INTEL cpu again. AMD FOREVER!!!!

Got the i5 (3.1 ghz sandy bridge) model and i’m quite happy with it. Thought it wasnt worth the upgrade, the upcoming ivy bridge i5 will on its turn smoke the current i7. SSD instead of a harddisk is the way to go if you want a huge performance improvement.
if i have to choose between imac i7 27″ -2010 – 8g ram – ati 1gb —– OR —- iMac i5 – 21″ – 2011 -16g ram – ati 512mb , what are you going to choose … plz respons fast… i need your help. am gamer 70% and creative 30% …. thank you and waiting ^^

@LiamKroes 30 seconds for one minute of export, that is one hour if you export 2 hours of video.
@fitimio001 – Except for the fact that i don’t have an imac. So your logic is only applicable to someone with an imac and it also implies said person would buy a whole new imac for the upgrade. So for me, it was a good video. You might be too big a spender if your willing to buy a completely new computer every 6 months when something new comes out.

But you are not paying the extra $200. You are paying what you paid for your old one and an extra 200 bucks. So if the i5 was $2000, you just spent a total of $4200 which is 2100% more money for your performance to be marginally better(as we saw in the benchmarks, hardly any difference worth $2200). That’s thinking outside the box. Don’t even get me started on what I would do with $4200 if I built my own PC, just don’t.
how well will th i5 run final cut and garage band those are the only aplications i would be using most of the time
