N1996 Motherboard Amd
n1996 motherboard amd query by snipermcguns1: My one.83GHz processor is operating at one.10GHz Support!?
I have tried putting in the chipset drivers for the new processor but absolutely nothing has worked. Please, if you have any info how to use it allow me know. My mother board is a KM2M Combo motherboard from MSI and the model # on it is N1996. The processor is AMD Athlon XP 2500+ – AXDA2500DKV4D.

The answer will be in your BIOS. You both have the multiplier or the front side bus set incorrectly. My guess is that you have the FSB set at 200 and it really should be at 266.
the 2500+ is just a label. Does the MSI website state that it supports that processor? That is how you learn about computers and even the site information maybe wrong!
