overclocking ram ddr3 question by Dogbites: ddr3 1600 ram on a ddr3 1333/1600(OC) motherboard?
I’m considering of acquiring a “ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel X58″
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Item.aspx?Item=N82E16813131365
and i am thinking of acquiring a “Corsair Dominator 6GB (three x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)”
http://www.newegg.com/Item/Merchandise.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224&Tpk=TR3X6G1600C8D
but the mobo only will take ddr3 1600(OC). Do i have to do some tweaking or overclocking ahead of i can use the memory? Or can i just place it in a it’s all great to go?
overclocking ram ddr3 What do you consider? Answer under!

No,in purchase to make the RAM run at 1600mhz you have to perform with the timings and voltage. If you happen to be not sure what to do do not mess with it.
I sad that they discontinued these. I wanted another pair to complete my AMD build. I bought these back when they came out for about $130 or so. Then one day I noticed on newegg they dropped the price to $40-60 for these. I didn’t have the money at the time to purchase a pair.
Talk about back luck. Now I’m going to have to use something else.
Does black edition mean it’s overclocked? cause i want a cpu, but overclocked cpu’s will be to hot for my pc. thx
guys!! is the timings clocks the more the better or the less the better?? as shown at 2:06
@TheVanGastel It does wirk with Intel, you just don’t get the black edition extras and the profiles. Trust me, I’ve tested it with an i7 & an i5.
@TheCommanderEddy no
@Pkmeg lol its not the mem you need to set it manual i have set it to on my gigabyte ga-790fxta-ud5
This is my setup. : 8t 8t 8t 14t 2t 6t 110ns 90ns 110ns 12t 6t 33t 6t set the voltage to 1.65v and this mem running like a charm.
Hi. I had some issues with my ASUS M4A79T Deluxe MB(very unstable for my use).
Had AMD 965 x4, AMD Ocz 1600mhz DDR3 BE, 850W Psu, 5770xfx Crissfire.
Ordered a new MB, the MSI 870A-G54.
Would you say the MSI 870A-G54 would be more stable with this set? I’m not into OverClocking. I’ve heard the ASUS MB I had was a “fake” 1600mhz Ram MB, any heard of this?
@PCWizKid Hi , on motherboard i’m planing to buy (Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3) there are 4 slots for Dual-Channel memory , 2 of them are blue , and 2 of them are white , Will my system be unstable if i get 8GB of RAM , 4GB on Blue slots , and 4GB on white slots? does it make any diference? ( planing to run in 64x bit )
Will this ram work on an intel processor?
Hey if i install 4 of these OCZ BE sticks which would be 4x2gb would i have any stability problem???
@PCWizKid I have an AMD Phenom II 550 BE 3.1Ghz+MotherB Gygabyte GA-MA770T-UD3-Socket AM3+2 sticks(2GB per stick)OCZ BE 1600Mhz+Win7 +ATI Radeon HD5670 512MB.According game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_overdrive.aspx I shouldn´t have problems but I´ve read in a forum that it´s possible to experiment some troubles with the 550 processor using AOD.My RAM´s are running now in default mode at 1066Mhz and I want accelerate them at 1600mhz using the AOD profiles from AMD.Would I Have problems? Thanks!

…sorry PCWizKid according to BIOS my RAMs are running (now) in default mode at 1066Mhz not at 1033Mhz. My mistake! Thanks.
…PCWizKid Ohh I forgot 2 more specifications: Windows 7 + ATI Radeon HD5670 512MB GDDR5 too. Thanks.

@PCWizKid
btw my specs… phenom 965BE, M4A88TDEVO, 4GB KINGSTON 1333MHZ..VAPOR X 5770 ..POWER SUPPLY 560W ..actally plan to buy msi hawk 5770 for crossfire..u think is possible?
@PCWizKid
oh man..thx alot for replying me.. i really could have bought the wrong ram!!
one more question…u suggested me to get kingston ram..my ram is kingston kvr1333d3n9/2G …WHich is not a performance memory..so right now i plan to get a 4gb perfomance memory…would you recommend me some of those sticks
@KHONObakayaro , Hi if the memory timings of the Kingston is the same as the OCZ then you can mix, but you cannot use the AMD BE memory profile properly if you mix memory like that, best you get more Kingston memory.
@PCWizKid
i need answers….. pls..i have 2stick which is 4 gb of kingston..but i need more gb of ram..so if i buy this ocz black edition stick will it be possible to install ? which is kinston plus ocz?

can I set the values in bios instead ??? Will it be the same ???
The mobo should work fine with a ddr-1600 kit the p6t deluxe’s are solid mobo’s – to run a ddr 1600 kit on an i7 you’re always overclocking as they only “support” ddr 3 1333 on stock freqs. Only thing you mite need to do is set the appropriate memory settings in the bios if it defaults to a lower frequency but if you’re planning on overclocking then you should have no trouble with something like that – running the modules at a 1333 will be very little diff to running them at 1600 – i7′s have a huge amount of memory bandwidth and very low latencies on stock frequencies so i wouldn’t stress too much
