I am not looking for a huge overclock, do not want to adjust voltages, and would be joyful with a couple of MHz.

Assumption 1: It is a great thought to run the CPU FSB in a one:1 ratio with your memory.

Assumption two: The FSB of the processor is quad pumped, and hence for the 1:1 above, my 1333 default is genuinely 333MHz. (I am rather certain for this 1 as the 333 times the multiplier of 9 offers the 3.0GHz)

Assumption 3: DDR2 ram is double pumped as therefore my DDR2-800 has a true frequency of 400MHz.

Conclusion: If I set this at a 1:one I ought to be ready to preserve my DDR2 at default, this would make my FSB of processor be 400MHz, times the multiplier of 9 would give me a 3.6GHz operating frequency.

My problem is that when I go into the bios, and link the frequency of the ram to the CPU at a 1:one, it reads ram frequency of 1333. My default appropriate now has it at 800. So this readout would seem to be operating frequencies.

Hi. There are two frequencies that you look at. One particular is the memory freq, or FSB. The other is the multiplier. Setting the multiplier adjustments the CPU frequency. Modifying the FSB affects the memory speed (and the AGP and possibly the PCIe speed.) Try the multiplier very first. If it is stable then increase it a bit more. Do this till you are no lengthier stable. (I would not boost the voltage as this can impact the chip existence.) Then try out the FSB one step at a time. Have fun!!
