ati radeon hd 5970 newegg query by Brian McDowell: Can the Dell Studio XPS 9100 Desktop with a stock 525 watt energy supply run an ATI Radeon HD 5970 video card?
I ask this due to the fact dell.com does not provide an alternative (to my expertise) to switch energy supplies. I feel this (http://www.newegg.com/Item/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009) power supply would operate fantastic but I never know if that would match in the tower properly (and I would have an additional energy provide sitting close to) since the complete cause I am acquiring from dell.com is because I want this personal computer to be stock and below warranty. Please assist me…my present personal computer genuinely sucks.
Also, can I get them to swap the stock a single for the 850w corsair – and set up it – in the hyperlink under (it is readily available for purchase on the dell.com site also) . Just asking yourself if everyone has had to do this just before with dell.

Now that you confirmed my concerns that it won’t operate (even however dell has that video card as an upgrade alternative!!!! but they never provide an alternate video card…..) could you guys please let me know if dell can swap them out and install it ahead of it ships out and if every little thing would even now be beneath warranty even thought every thing is not “stock”. And perhaps they could give me a discount given that I am not obtaining the original 525w energy provide (what is it is rough retail worth?)?

i wouldnt suggest 650 watt either, go with 800 ish due to the fact more than time energy supplies loose some of thier wattage.
Connectivity for 5×1 Portrait @ 5400×1200 (10 megapixels) straight outta the box.,
Running this beastly beauty in a quad-CrossfireX rig with Gigabyte’s P67A-UD7. Setting up 5 inexpensive NEC ea231wmi IPS monitors with both native portrait-mode & displayport capability left me but a few color calibration, bezel adjustment & Eyefinity-group creation steps before enjoying breathtaking 11.1 megapixel resolution. Eyefinity has been streamlined in both software and connectivity via AMD’s latest cards. Dissimilar the distracting screen-tearing, inactive Crossfire compatability, & nauseating stutter / microstutter / jitter output that permeated the technology’s first year has matured to a relatively glitchless & streamlined solution. It’s culmination has no better suitor than AMD’s own flagship 6990! There’s no other card yet engineered capable of rendering 5×1 portrait at uncompromising image quality (nvidia doesn’t support any but 3 monitor landscape/portrait). Scaling down to 3×1 landscape or portrait on the 6990, for ya’ll Eyefinity types, will not disappoint. I’m talking 8xAA/16xAF with everything topped off in damn near every recent, new, or soon to release game. With my Koolance waterblock, I’ve climbed up to 1075/1500 (core/clock) without voltage regulators catching fire. When paired with a third or third+fourth 6970, you’ll enjoy quad scaling so good you’ll have to run multiple API monitors (Fraps, Afterburner, RadeonPro) just to verify that they are, indeed, reporting the correct frames per second. Can’t say enough about this great product.

Bought this card from tiger direct, but it is one hell of a proformer.One thing everyone should know is that this card is long.Its a lot quiter than my 480gtx also runs cooler.Im glad i paid the price for it it should stay on top for next couple of years.GOOD JOD ATI
